Salma Haque is an Associate Professor at International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC). Haque completed her B. A. and M. A. in English from the University of Chittagong. She received an MPhil degree from the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) in English literature. The title of her thesis is “Strained Marriage Relationships in Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House and D. H. Lawrence's Sons and Lovers: A Critical Analysis". She was awarded UGC Research Grant for her MPhil work.

The areas of her specialization are novel and drama. Her research interests include Victorian Novels, African and Caribbean Literature, Contemporary American Literature, South Asian Classics, World History, Short Stories, and Gender Studies.

She presented papers at international conferences and national seminars.

She is a life member of the Bangladesh English Language Teachers Association (BELTA) and Chottogram Sanskriti Kendro.
