Service & Training Center (STC)

Considering the ever increasing needs of the students of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) the Service & Training Center (STC) was established in 1998 with 13 Computers, 2 Printers, 4 Photocopiers, Laminating & Spiral binding machines, phone facilities, Internet & E-mail, Fax & Courier Service etc. Since then the activities of the Service & Training Center has been expanding witg the commitment to offer valuable services to the students at affordable costs.

Induction of training programs on some important computer packages was a well thought and successful addition to the STC. Through these package programs, it opened its facilities to general mass of the locality to help them acquire professional skill of high standard. The training programs shall be condact by the university teachers unlike many training institutions which are generally conducted by some diploma holders and raw hand apprentices.

Objectives

The aim of the IT Courses in Computer Technology is to prepare IT professionals to meet the ever expanding demand of the computer related fields. The objectives of the programs are also to develop skills in:

Using a computer and its areas of application efficiently

Using computers for office automation, Internet, Programing language

Using database and database management systems etc.

Computer programing and software development

Creating Computer graphics and webpage Design

Admission Requirements

The applicant must have passed S.S.C/Dhakil or equivalent examination to be eligible for admission in different IT Programming courses.

Admission Procedure

Application forms are available for Tk. 50/- in Service & Training Center. To collect application by mail, one may write to the Chairman of Service & Training Center along with a bank draft or Tk. 70/- in favour of "Students Service Center". Application form dully filled in must be submitted to the Service & Training Center (STC) with attested copies of all relevant documents.

STC has section for the students where photocoping, laminating, spiral binding, computer composing, telephone call and e-mail facilities services are available at a low cost. The cost of services provided are given below:

Publication

STC publishes a magazine STC Dot com regularly in order to make the students equally skilled in both writing and practical fields besides impasting knowledge on IT.

Multimedia Kids Program

There is a Multimedia Kids Computer Club under STC in order to build up the young students as a computer programmer and graphics designer. Childre can also learn computer program by obtaining membership of this club.
