University Divisions
The Planning & Development Division focuses on strategic planning, institutional development, and long-term growth initiatives.
International Islamic University Chittagong was established in 1995. After starting academic activities in rental premises at Chawkbazar, Chittagong, the authority decided to establish a permanent campus in a suitable location. The IIUC authority, i.e. Islamic University Chittagong Trust (IUCT), finally selected the land at Kumira, 20 kilometers away from Chittagong city, for its permanent campus.
Construction at the permanent campus began on 17th March 1999 with the foundation of Academic Building #1. IUCT formed the Engineering and Construction Division (ECD) to supervise construction, later renamed Planning and Development Division (P&DD).
Planning Aspects
- Prepare project profiles for proposed buildings to collect foreign donations, including project summary, estimated cost, architectural view, and structural drawings.
- Plan future infrastructural requirements.
Development Aspects
- Appoint contractors and subcontractors for various construction works.
- Prepare tender documents, publish tender notices in national newspapers, distribute tender schedules, open tenders, prepare comparative statements, and issue work orders.
- Oversee construction of 20 buildings, 2 culverts, 3 km of HBB & BFS roads, and 6 deep tubewells between 1999–2009.
- Manage major construction projects from 2005 onward, including the 16-story IIUC Tower at Agrabad. The 10-story Hospital Building with other buildings at the Health Science campus.
Quality Control
Supervise, check, and control the quality of all construction works at every location.
