Professor Dr. Md. Thowhidul Islam earned his B.A. (Hon's), M.A., and Ph.D. in Islamic History and Culture from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is currently serving as a Professor of Islamic History & Culture at the Centre for General Education, International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), Bangladesh. Dr. Islam has published more than thirty research articles in leading peer-reviewed and indexed journals. His works have appeared with globally renowned academic publishers including Brill, Springer Nature, Emerald, Elsevier, Routledge, Palgrave Macmillan, and Indiana University Press. He has presented papers at numerous international conferences across Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Denmark, Sweden Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Morocco, Pakistan, Qatar, and Turkey. He has authored two books Globalization The Muslim World and South Asia, (LAMBERT Academic Publishing, Germany), and Bangladesh Studies, (Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought). He has also contributed book chapters and encyclopedia entries in Islamic Finance, Risk-Sharing and Macroeconomic Stability (Palgrave Macmillan); the Encyclopedia of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques (King Abdul Aziz Foundation, KSA); and Building an Islamic Case for Open Markets History, Theory & Practice (Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue, Islamabad and Islam & Liberty Network, Malaysia). Dr. Islam is a Bangladesh Fellow of the Islam and Liberty Network (Malaysia) and a member of the Asia Association for Global Studies (Japan), the Regional Peace Education Network (Estonia), Bangladesh History Association, and the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh. He serves as the Executive Editor of the Journal of Social Science and Multidisciplinary Enquiry (JSSME) [E-ISSN 3106-3462] and is a member of the editorial boards of several academic journals. His research interests encompass the history and politics of the modern Muslim world, international conflicts, global and regional relations of Muslim states, geopolitics, global security, refugee studies, and comparative analysis.
