The B.Sc. (Engineering) program in the department of Computer Science & Engineering consist of 85 courses carrying 160 Credit Hours. There are 9 University Requirement Courses (URC) carrying 12 credit hours, 4 Interdisciplinary Courses carrying 8 credit hours and 72 Core Courses carrying 140 credit hours. In the Core Courses there are 38 theory courses carrying 98 credit hours and 34 practical courses carrying 42 credit hours.
There are three sets of optional courses. From each set of courses one course is to be taken. Total 160 credit hours to be undertaken and completed by a student during 8 semesters. Duration of each semester is 6 months. Each course carries 100 marks. Of the total marks allotted to each course, 20 marks are for class tests/assignments/oral tests, 30 marks for mid-term examination and 50 marks for the final examination. A student must pass separately in theory and practical and will be able to repeat the failed courses only be it practical or theory. Registration, add/drop and withdrawal must be made in pair (theory and practical). Out of 100 marks for Laboratory courses, 50 marks is allotted for running assessment and 50 marks is for practical exam, viva, quiz etc at the end of semester final examination.
